Default Scottoiler has stopped oiling.

Basically as the title says, even set to prime its not doing much. Was working fine over the summer, im using 0-30ºc oil in it, and it has indeed stopped oiling.

Do these need cleaned out every so often? I assume the vacuum pipe wouldnt get gunked up over time if its only air moving around inside it.

It has only ever been used with genuine scottoiler oil, and his been fitted for Id say just over 6k miles

I had that with mine, the breather pipe was blocked.

Take the breather pipe off and try and try and the prime again and see if the oil starts to flow.

Also sometimes the dispenser nib by the sprocket gets blocked up with gunk, so make sure thats clean as well.

Did it run out of oil? I have had to force oil back down in prime mode to get it to run after running out.( Take pipe off of fill bottle and blow down it)!

I kinda had this on mine, in the end I found it had been trapped between the subframe and the pannier brackets when fitted stopping the vacuum,

it did run out actually, and now it wont prime again. I shall see if i can manually get oil into it at the weekend! hopefully that will solve it.

and yeah i pulled all of the pipes out there on sunday to make sure all was well but couldnt see anything wrong!

Soak it in petrol for an hour, then set fire to it.

It won't make it oil again, but you might feel better after it.
