Yo Guy's
Took the SV 650s 04 up to speed last night on a private road and it seemed to get a bit gutless after 115mph does this sound about right? Need to tuck in and hold it open to get any faster? Just a bit dubious as I feel it might be limited if this is not normal. Pulls perfect up to 100mph but I remember my Curvy being faster! |

Sprockets may have been changed on this one?

mine tops out at around an indicated 130, gets up to 120 without too much trouble though. as above maybe sprocket change or your speedo is just more accurate?

Haha Probley more accurate speedo! So it doesn't sound like it's restricted? The limiter does not seem to kick in at a strange time or anything so not sure?
Does anyone know the standard gearing for a pointy 04 (teeth numbers)? Granted some of the newer older ones might be the same? Would like to get the gearing back standard if I can Cheerrs ![]() |

Mine's an 05 naked and I can easssilyyyyy get to 110, but I notice after that other bikes will easily pull away and big capacity cars will start leaving you too.
Very very fast up to 100, but as you say seems to drop off not long afterwards. I have had an indicated 143mph but that's probably not very accurate. |

SOunds about right IMO, gets to around 120 no trouble but then I've to tuck in and stretch out if I want to have it indicate much more. My rear sprocket is carrying an extra tooth at the moment though.

My bike is restricted, trust me 115 would require a long straight down hill with a strong tailwind! Don't think that this is your problem, have a look at your private runway, were you going slightly up hill?

I got an 'indicated' 144 on the downhill section of the nurburg and im pretty sure i was on the limiter (54 plate pointy). As for a flat road with no wind she pulls to about 120 nicely then take another minute to get to 132. But to be honest on a 1/4 mile your only guna get to 108 and the sv is perfect for keeping your licence or short tracks like brands hatch, its only places with mega straight and long bends like the ring the 4 cyclinders and cars leave the SV.
