Default Start of Season Ice Cream Run, Last Weekend in February. Largs

Start of Season Ice Cream Run

Having not got my SV till september last year I haven't been on this run, but according to the 'regular get togethers sticky' this is part of the calender!

Someone want to put up what usually happens?

Suggested routes?

Is Largs the start or finish?

Saturday or Sunday?

Just thought I would get the ball rolling on this one.

Usually just meet at Hein Gericke for 10-10.30am on the sunday, head up the lochside, over the Military Road, touch cloth over the wibbly wobbly to Arrochar, over The Rest And Be Thankful, cut a left to Dunoon, Hunters Quay ferry over to Gourock, meander down to sunny Largs for lashings of icecream and ginger-beer.

Then its Haimelldaeme via Largs- Kilbirnie road for this weegie.

Always a good do.

I'm in.

Thats just a 285 mile round trip for me then! Sounds like fun

Might come up on Saturday and stop at my Mum's at Dunoon overnight, will save a few miles and means I'll get 3 ferry trips in one weekend!!!!!!!!!

If using the wee ferry out of Hunters Quay, we can buy a book of tickets from the wee shop, much cheaper than buying them onboard. The last time I came over on the bike, he only charged for me and not for the bike.
I think, If the guy on the boat thinks you are local, they are far more generous with what they let pass

iirc i manage to talk him down to £20 for 15 bikes last year, however year before it was full price, just depends on the guy and his mood i think.

May have went a bit mad but had a radical tidy of this thread to make it readable.

For those planning to attend. HEIN GERICKE GLASGOW 10 - 10:15, 10:30 Depart.
Route and map is in post #6
Attendees are Here

I'm heading out to a party in about an hour and will be leaving straight from the floor there tomorrow morning, org access on the fone is not great, so if you need to get me txt(most of you have my number) or Facebook is best. (Kilted Ginger)
Particularly if the 4 (atm) other attendees pull out (means i can sleep longer on the floor)

I'm heading out shortly to a mate's 30th, so there's a good chance that I'll end up in a similar state as Mr Ginger... however I would quite fancy making this tomorrow (providing the weather behaves like it has today), so if someone that's DEFO going could PM me their number I can confirm in the morning?
