Default BMW R1100GS clutch slip

Mate of mine has an R1100GS with a slipping clutch, very likely an oil leak to the clutch plates (its a dry clutch).

Anybody ever done the oil seal repair on one of these? I hear its a complete engine/gearbox removal to replace the seal.

Yes, and yes it is.

Make sure it's an oil leak that's responsible before doing anything - engine and gearbox out of a modern Beemer is a whole lot of dismantling.

ok, thanks. Is it a difficult job or just time consuming? Any special tools required?
