Default Fairing rivets & screen rubber nuts/rivets

http://www.towzatronics.com/fairing-...xings-12-c.asp

Does anyone know off hand what sizes the sv uses, i know theres one at the tip of the pointy fairing under the screen. Theres 1 behind the back of the seat and some under the rear fairing.

Also im looking to replace the rubber 'nuts/rivets' as the rubber edge on the is coming off after removing them a few times. i dont know if its because i'm removing them the wrong way.

These...

Theres a couple of these that have the rubber intergral top washer in bits and im not sure if i put them back in it will make them a nightmare to remove again.

I've got used to the idea of replacing those rubber well nuts on a regular basis if I have a period of removing the fairing a few times. They're not the most robust type of fastener although they do the job well enough once they are in place.

There must be a way to replace them with something better/reusable. I take it theyre only oem.

They are pretty cheap and readily available from most fastener companies. Try Custom Fasteners in Newtown, Powys.

I was thinking about trying to find a way of replacing them with Dzus fasteners but I like the bit of rubber between the panels that the well nuts provide.

Well nuts are on average £1.20 each from that company x4 = 4.80

Wereas on ebay they can be had for 4.95 including new bolts & washers

Thanks for the tip though, i will keep it in case i need anything else.

Little bit of washing up liquid makes the removal and replacement easy. Squeeze the big flat end and push them through with a slight twist to fit them.Lift the lip and put soap under it and push it straight through to remove them.
For the number of times you are likely to remove your screen I can't consider the cost of a set of new ones to be that expensive and with the soap you can change them umpteen times without damaging them. You are more likely to knacker them by trying to over tighten and over compressing them
