I'm looking at an SV650 K5, it's black with lower fairings, tail tidy, aftermarket can, data tool alarm, K&N filters, LED indicators, 11 months MOT and 4 months tax. It's only got 12k miles on the clock and tyres have a while to go. No cosmetic wear and everything's running smoothly. How much is it worth?

How much are they selling it for? Sometimes a completely stock bike can be worth more than one with mods.
Also, are there any other bits included such as original exhaust, rear mudguard, pillion seat/grab rail etc? Last edited by Nobbylad; 21-08-11 at 11:13 AM. |

It was originally for £2500 but managed to get it down to £2200. Buying a bike with aftermarket mods already will save me a lot of money in the long run because it saves me from having to buy them myself.

I guess, sometimes aftermarket stuff replaces damaged stock stuff after an off, just something to bear in mind. Has he had it from new/what history is with it?

Afaik he hasn't had it from new. V5 is present with service history.

I reckon £2,200 is about right then. You can deffo get a cheaper one, but might have to spend a bit to get the mods you want. I take it you've looked around a bit?
Also, bike prices do tend to come down a little after the summer, so depends if you can wait until October/November for the sake of £100-200. |

Ok thanks a lot. In the last few months I have seen quite a few bikes but I'm quite fussy with what I like. I've seen a few K6 models at that price but they were all pretty much stock. I've considered waiting until winter to save a few pennies, but I want to catch the last bit of summer so I don't mind paying a bit more.
Does anyone know anything about the Devil exhaust? After watching some videos of the cans fitted to SV's, they seem deafeningly loud. I'm after a nice sounding can but not one that will shake the floor every time I turn the key. |

It looks like it has a baffle in it in the picture, have you heard the bike running? If not, go and see it and make your mind up then. It will be quieter with the baffle in and you'd most likely be wearing ear plugs anyway and have your lid on.
