Question Power loss when overtaking?

Hey people! I own a v reg 650s. On my way back from the pub last night (on the cokes of course) I was following my mate. We came round a slight left bend and I was keeping my revs up ready to overtake him but when I opened up the tap I had a sudden loss of power, so I closed, re opened and it was fine . It hasn't done it again since but was just a little bit worried. Any ideas on what this could of been? Thank you!

It is carbed and only just done a service, there is no knocking or tapping noise either.
Also its not restricted and it was not on a wet day.

I'd check the air filter incase something is blocking it.

Yes check the foam under the tank, it can sometimes come loose and intermittently block the filter.

Also it's starting to cool down a bit now, if damp or foggy carb icing would not be out of the question.

The tank foam can look fine even if it's getting sucked into the intake, give it a bit of a tug to be sure. Drove me insane till I figured it out, it was even bogging down at around the same engine speed just to throw me off.
