720kph is about mach 0.6 - or f'ing quick when you're only a few inches off the ground.

If that goes wrong it'll make Richard Hammond's little accident look like a picnic.

Good luck to him,

Keith.

The guys response on New Scientist site raises a few questions - what sthe point of spending all that money and expertise on a pointless ( ?) project / quest .

NNext thing you know, theyll be banning bike racing cos its got no point...the point is the fun, the quest...why bother climbing mountains, go to space etc

I think us petrolheads will be coming under ever more pressure from eco warriors to stop wasting money / fuel etc...

Soon they will be protesting, throwing themselves under the wheels of Leon Haslam , to make us stop....

Maybe not Leon, but his son ....
