Default Fuel consumption questions.

Hi guys,

I am a week old pointy SV owner and love it but as they dont have a fuel gauge i have a couple of questions....

How many miles out of a full tank?
How many miles do you have left when the petrol light starts to flash?
How many miles from a soilid petrol light?

Does it ever flash faster or just slow?? Obviosly it depends how you ride but rough figures of what you guys are gettingwill ge gewat.

Cheers !!!!

pointy only has a flashing fuel light (as far as i know), it comes on when there is approx 4.5 litres left. how many miles, how long is a piece of string It all depends on how you ride, what roads you ride on and your style.

trip the trip meter when you fill up, then when the light comes on make a note of the mileage and moniter it, that way you will know when its going to come on

What exact model do you have?

Early Pointy has single stage fuel light, later one has two stage.

I have a 2006 model and the light usually strats to flash at around 130 - 135 miles. I normally fill up at around 150 miles and it is still flashing. Have gone to 171 miles and with it still flashing so don't know how far it will go before going solid. My commute is a bit rural so am not going to push it too far!

My K5 has a 17L tank.
Flashing = 4 litres
Solid = 1.5

Mileage wise I guess it all depends how you ride etc. I used to hit 55mpg when I started riding but now I'm nearer 45mpg.

My curvy has just gone onto flashing light at 162 miles. Solid is normally about another 20, & I never chance too far on solid, so don't know.
