Default Digital TV:

I have a couple of old Sky boxes that I use to get Digital TV. Can you get a card to allow you to view additional channels without subscribing to SKY?
In particular Motors TV?

Don't think so but you can plug a freesat decoder into your existing sky dish and get freesat instead of sky and that will enable you to watch some random stuff although nothing too exciting.

http://www.freesat.co.uk/what-you-get/

I got a cheap freesatHD box and use that with an existing sky dish. Gets me most channels plus iPlayer.

We now use Freesky(sky minus viewing card) + FreesatHD + FreeView + iPlayer and can usually find something worth watching but don't pay any subscriptions apart from TV license.

We get marginal freeview coverage round here until the cut-over. Monster aerial, best amps you can get and I still lose the BBC mux when it rains

If I up the amplification any more I start to get interference from the next transmitter!

Apparently when they turn off analogue they will turn up digital and that's all due to happen in march/april so fingers crossed. If they turn up the digital now it will blat all over the analogue services in Guildford so hence it's all turned down on the digital side.

Also, ref the sky card, these days you get some service with no card at all so may be worth saving your £25 if you get what you want.

I really should investigate the streamed services next as I've got good broadband so that may get me even more free stuff
