Default I need to calculate booze drinkage at a wedding. HHEELLPP!!

I have absolutely no idea how to figure out how much booze to buy for my wedding. I have to supply the lot.

I know where I'm getting it so need a way to work out roughly how much will be drunk.

There'll be 82 adults of varying ages, more young people than old folks. Not all drink but it's only maybe 5 or 6 that don't drink at all or that it's negligable.

Anyone in the trade that can help me?

BTW I have plenty of beer, lager and cider so it's just wine, Prosecco (for reception drinks and toasts) and spirits which will be limited to Vodka, JD and maybe whiskey and gin.

Any help is appreciated.

You forgot to mention that Bear is there and will be drinking.

PM me your timings and I can ask our bar and weddings managers for an idea. A lot of places do sale or return too.

Go to a wholesalers and get sale or return.

Beer you may be able to find a mobile bar that would be cheaper than cans/ bottles. I'm guessing the bar is horrendously expensive to hire

well i used to work at a hotel doing wedding set up, but need a couple of other variables
. is it just the wine for the reception sit down meal you are providing, and reception drinks?(ie i drink on arrival and toast plus wine with meal!)
2. we usually ask if you are providing a set amount to the guests during the meal of if it would just be free flow.(for example when i got married i provided 1xglass of cava on arrival and an budjeted for 2x wine with meal and 1x glass of champagne for toast)

A standard bottle of wine will do for 4-5 125ml wine glasses.

We had to buy the booze for our wedding.
We found that pretty well everywhere does sale or return but for beer it's by the case. As you've said you have already decided where you're buying from, it's a moot point.

Anyway, we decided that it was best to over order (especially if you can return the unopened stuff). We actually ran out of bottled water (fortunately the venue had additional bottled water that they started using (and didn't charge us for). People do overcompensate once they've had a few glasses of champers/aftershock.

My sister had prosecco for her reception and toast drinks. She went for roughly half a bottle per person for reception drinks which seemed to last long enough. A 750ml bottle is 6 glasses.

Does the venue charge corkage?

Yep 6 glasses of cava/champagne per bottle. Prosecco if you like but we've never had a bad bottle of cava, not always been impressed with champagne. Some good supermarket offers around, Clos Monistrol £5 a bottle at Sainsburys, runs out tomorrow.

Someone shoot me, isn't this a bikers' forum? I sound so posh I'm even starting to irritate myself

Thanks peeps.

A little more info:

We're providing the lot as we're not allowed a paid bar. No corkage.

The numbers for reception drinks and wine with the meal are fairly easy, it the drinks for the party I'm having trouble with although I think I have rough numbers.
