Anyone know why my gearbox wont select neutral when warm but fine when cold, even if I turn the engine off you have to wait 2 - 3 mins and its fine.
Its doing my head in. |

you mean worm drive?, all done and why would it change from being all fine for first 15 minutes of ride then get slowly worse to not being able to select at all after 25 minutes

Its just neutral all the other gears are really smooth and select correctly

If as Sid and Bibio say, the cable is correctly adjusted both ends, the worm drive cleaned and greased (watch out for the tiny ball bearings) oil level correct and the lever pivot greased and set at the correct angle then you could check for clutch drag which may mean the basket is notched enough to cause the problem.

The bike is a new build using spare parts so its had new oil and filter 38 miles ago
