Electric Bicycles
Becoming very popular, personally I dont want (or need) one of these. But having seen a few now they are clearly becoming more popular. I think they are a good idea, probably fun too. Some of them look smart too. Mind you, a half decent used pointy for the same money would be my preference.

15mph on the motor alone, but pedal with it and you can easily be doing 20mph everywhere. It's amazing for overtaking roadies up hills, and its stealth so they just think you are some kind of pedal legend. FLying past them up hill in a suit.

They have become quite popular down my way over the last couple of years particularly in the Asian communities. The first time I saw one it was something of a surprise to see a slight Asian super woman pedalling easy at 20mph plus. It took a moment to realise she had an electric assist.
I reckon that these would be great for inner city living or working where parking is at a premium or saving the (horrible) wear and tear on a motorcycle from those short 2-5mi commutes. |
