Will two 55W 6000k HID kits be okay in my K3 pointy dominator headlights as i dont want it to draw too much current and drain the battery or am i better off getting a 35w kit?
Also will the ballasts be okay underneath my tank as there are limited places to mount them due to it being a naked? Thanks |

1st thing.....these HID kits are supposed to be illegal and will fail an MOT...that said I have HID kits fitted in my cars without any problems and they`ve passed MOTs with them fitted.
But if you want a HID kit, a 35w hi/lo kit will give plenty of light..lots more than the standard h4 bulbs, the beam pattern can be a little messy and I find high beam is not great but low beam is very good. I`m not sure the ballasts could be fitted under the tank as the cables from the ballast to the bulb is not very long, also...these cables carry a high voltage to start and run HID bulbs and I hate to think what would happen if one got shorted onto the frame or the tank...full of fuel. |

don't get 6000k get 4300k. the blue tinge is more likely to get you pulled. if you have dominator lamps i doubt that they will fit.

Don't fit them at all, they are unmitigated crap and dazzle every other road user while not giving you the benefit of a decent beam by which to see the road.
Invest in proper bulbs for your existing headlights instead. If you can't make them good with decent bulbs, an HID kit will not help either... unless you enjoy being one of those gimps who like dazzling everyone in the name of automotive fashion. |

only time i get flashed is coming off a crest and even then it's diks who shouldn't be on the roads, you know the ones they are the same ones that brake for no apparent reason at night along a straight road. |

Sorry Lance, but I have never seen one properly set up HID unit yet, and they simply do not work in reflectors designed for conventional bulbs.... which is why aftermarket ones are an MOT fail.

yup i feel the same way Lozzo with people that point them at the sky. when i got my MOT this year the inspector said that they were set up lovely and it's one of his pet hates as well. a lot of them do produce scattered light but for some strange reason mine seem to be pretty good and are just like brighter xenon. but i do tend to point them down a tad more as i to hate being dazzled by ill fitted ones.
anyway i love mine and not just for the light output but they also make anything reflective stand out like a christmas tree on steroids which is particularly good for spotting the boys in blue ![]() |

Bibio a 35w kit will still be okay regards to battery drainage wont it though? I used to have a kit in my car but was wondering how it differs in bikes?
Im going to get the beam set up at my work anyway because we've got a MOT ramp with a headlight beam detector. I think the H4 Hid kid should fit inside my dominator headlights with clearance still? |
