My new bike (insert negative comments here)

Here it is, My Harley Iron 883







Bought this just over a month ago now. Still keeping the curvy of course for the more serious riding or commuting. But I'll have no shame in admitting I've always loved the look of these, as you may remember from a thread I started some years back.

Well one test ride was all it took to fall in love with the machine and make the decision an easy one. It struggles a bit as you push on after 90mph, but it has plenty of low-end grunt. The sound of the engine and exhaust is like music to my ears, and the riding position is a fun and refreshing change from the sporty SV's (actually I really love the riding position!). Riding on unlit country roads at night and you can barely see yourself on a bike, you just blend into the surrounding darkness.

I hope to convert this to a 1200 at some point, and and in the grand scheme of things I'm working my way up to a nightrod, although that won't be for some time yet.

Who said SV's and Harleys can't sit alongside each other in a garage harmoniously? Or maybe I've now got some org flaming coming my way.

if that's what you want then good on you and enjoy every minute of it. i do like the look of them but they don't go round corners and that's where i get my thrills but each to their own and all that jazz.

A Harley is like going from driving to town to getting a free Annual bus pass, it happens to everyone but indicates when there's a mid life crisis

Fit the 1200 kit, then it will only struggle above 95mph.

What a lovely looking bike. I'm by no means elitist and if you enjoy it then its worth it. It looks absolutely gorgeous though. Only problem is now you have to get kitted up to look as good as the bike!
