I think this is the longest time ever that the GM page has been inactive!

This is the longest the new GM has been inactive on the roads too.
We've all got cabin fever. |

Having to hose the bike down after i ride it is putting me off riding. Oh and the massive patches of ice at college where im meant to park up.
Once we aren't riding, off topic banter dosent take long to dry up... Last edited by Jammy; 22-01-13 at 11:08 PM. |

I'm rocking the old "ACF50 then leave it the feck alone" technique. Took the fairings off and ACF50ed it within an inch of it's life and it hasn't seen water since. I love checking back on the slightly corroded bolts etc to see the ACF50 has actually removed the corrosion (still don't know how the hell it does that!). The only thing you really need to look after is your chain and callipers. Get those callipers properly hosed down and keep on top of the chain clean/lube. The rest seems to be well protected by Mr ACF.
As for not chattering, we do also have an FB group which seems more appropriate for our mindless drivel. Rest assured we are still talking utter gonards, but anything vaguely productive will end up in here eventually. ![]()

Its a chemical reaction between whatevers in the ACF50 and the oxidised material.

It was a rhetorical display of joy rather than a request for a chemistry explanation.

Ref "Why are my nuts not furry"
I think in your case it's just that the "corrosion" you see is actually frame weevil poo and as we all know weevil poo drops off after a while unless kept topped up by the weevils. It seems frame weevils are not keen on ACF-50 so will have moved somewhere else (eg, inside your rear tyre) until the ACF-50 is removed. This will be proven if you find weevil poo (looks like white fur) stops appearing on metal bits but you find other areas such as a rear wheel start being attacked. The effort of moving can be quite taxing on the poor little weevils so you may find they are initially quite greedy nibbling larger chunks off your bike while they recover from the journey. Nathan's moved into his fairings and had a right old munch.

Are yours still resident in your swing arm, or did you manage to isolate them in your steering damper?
