all depends on what you want it for really,
if you're after a sunday special, full focus then max bang for your buck would be a KTM SUPERDUKE,was my choice. something a bit more refined and all round, a speed triple or a tiger (actually the new 800 isn't bad if you want something lighter then the 1050). that's just my first thoughts, were I given your criteria (and two knees that worked of course). Cheers Mark.

I've said a lot of this on FB but here goes...
Sprint, at least test ride one, you'll love it. Tiger 1050 as rictus said, lot of bike for the money, some bargains around. Tiger 800, probably my next bike unless something else takes my fancy. Z1000, good tourer. Street triple R Tuono, love the look and sound of these. |

At your age its got to be a Harley Fat Bint.
Make sure you have enough dosh left over for the white pudding basin lid and buttless chaps.

I second Yorkie, really we need to know what you want out of it, a few more details i.e. touring, wekend warrior, commuter, track days.
I personally love superdukes (2nd generation with 17l tank), tuonos, rsv's, new z1000 but I doubt you'd get one for £5000, K1200r, k1200s, pan's are good bikes, street triple r and speed triples are awesome bikes too. |
