Love the matte black of the frame and swingarm on my K6 however there is some wear patches from general use by the PO.
Anybody know how easy it is to touch these up/get these touched up cheapily or if it's worth stripping the bike down next winter and getting both fully re-sprayed? Cheers J |

It's a satin finish and Halfords Satin Black Aerosol is a good match to original. I've just cleaned off, rubbed down and resprayed my very tatty 1000K5 swingarm while it was off for it's winter rebuild and it's turned out really well. Use it with the grey primer. I didn't have the time to send it away for a professional powder coat.

Any photos Ratty?
Is it easier just to re-do the whole thing then rather than trying to touch-up? Does anybody know what the paint code is, I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was YAP? J

I haven't taken any photo's of the work I've been doing. I'll take a few when I have time this week but looks good as new. Don't know how durable it will be. It was easy enough to clean up and rub down.

I got a quote from a local bike store for paint repair to my frame today.
They were quoting about £290 to re-do the whole thing from a bare frame. Not sure if that's reasonable or not or if the whole frame would really need doing rather than just the worn areas... If Ratty's DIY paint job turns out to be fairly durable I may go down this route instead. What would be the easiest way to remove the old stuff? I'd need to do this if I went down either route unless i found somewhere that would do it for less than £290 including prep.
