Anyway to adjust gear lever at all?

Hello, not sure if anyone else has this problem but I am about 5 10" and wear size 12 boots when I ride.

Trainers are bendy but offer no protection if worst comes and I come off, so I wear boots.

It's not really a problem but I prefer riding with my foot either above or below the lever not on the tip of my foot. I ride with my foot on the left of the gear lever then if I want to change up or down then move my foot below or above respectively.

Undo the two locknuts on the change rod, noting that one is a left hand thread, look at the threads and you'll see it, turn the rod, (pair of pliers often needed), and you'll see the lever rise and fall.

Ahh cheers! Will try get it comfortable as my foot doesn't fit underneath it.

Would like it to stop raining though as I don't feel like faffing about in the wet.

The best riding position is with the balls of your feet on the peg, not toes by the shifter. But then it comes down to personal preference i guess. I used to ride like you until someone showed me the light, feels much more natrual.

I'll give riding with the ball of my foot on the pegs. I haven't really tried it, but I'll adjust the lever if I don't like it.

Ball of feet on peg is better for me when doing more than a few miles, able to adjust back and legs more and take the weight off hands easier. i ride with feet forward on my commute to work though as its all through town so lots of braking and gear changes etc.

foot position is a personal pref though i guess but finding the right position for the shifter is key. if you can get a mate to help so you can sit ont he bike and find the right position, for shifting and riding.
