Default Triumph Tiger 1050 Review

Went out last sunday and made this vid. Big old epic review about my experience over the last 6000 miles with my Tiger. Quite long for a casual watch but if you're interested in the bike it could be worth a watcharoo.

21K,just starting to loosen off,let the good times roll. Throttle, try taking up the play a little and increase the tickover by 1-200 revs, just above 1100. With full luggage fitted my problem in handling is side winds.Snatch on the chain, mine did 45k before I changed the sprockets, chain and cush drive rubbers and even then it was not 100% knackered but to be honest I think it is more a trait of Triumph gearboxes than chain.

55K on the old Sprint now and I still can't find a bike better for my style of riding and comfort,as you say 500 mile days are effortless, example Scotland from Essex with one fuel stop and fag break.

One fuel stop is good going! I prefer more regular fag breaks than that though.

I have loads of advice from Tiger owners about sorting the throttle. Things like loading custom tunes etc. Truth is I can live with it so I probably will. I don't really like fiddling with stock settings unless its a real problem and I'm loving the bike so its all good!

New chain should come tomorrow and its the DID upgraded kit, so hopefully that'll give it some decent life too.

What sort of price would be fair for one similar to yours, think I could go for one of those!

I paid £4600 for mine from a dealer, so you must be able to get one for £4k. They won't be much cheaper though as mine is as old as they get. In fact 56 plate ones seem rare.

I'll keep me eye out for one. Is there a decent Triumph forum to have a look at?
