Default Fuel Range on a Pointy?

Hi,
Some relevant info on the other thread, but presumably different for the injected bikes.

On my pointy K6 the fuel warning seems to come on at very different levels, are others finding the same? For example last fill it took 15.14L after doing 26 miles with the light showing, the fill before took 14.5L but I'd done 40 mile on reserve. Both worked out at between 62 and 63mpg over all. This morning the light first came on at 194 miles, if I fill up on the way home that will be around 20 miles on reserve.

Interested in what others are finding.

Mine usually comes on between 135-155 miles. Depends on how much you fill it, I usually brim it completely when I fill up unless I'm in a rush when I just do it to the cap.

Would also depend on your style if riding, what sort of journey you are doing etc. my commute is about 8 miles in town so a lot of rapid acceleration and filtering etc so don't get that good mpg, ave of 54 at the moment.

Never tried to see how far I can get on reserve.

I honestly dont know why its so bad, I've had 2 mechanics look at it, netiher of then can find any reason for it apart from, V-twins are thursty. I've just put it down to A) My exhaust im using and B) An exuberant riding style, something which im trying to cut down on.

I imagine that my economy will drop soon as I have just got a new exhaust, but can't comprehend how it could get that bad!

i think the most i've ever done before the light was 110 miles and that was having the bike stood up while i filled it :/ maybe i'll get the ecu checked

Same here, 110 max before the light, I have recently found a slow puncture in my rear tyre and found the pressure was very very VERY low (9psi) so thats been sorted and hopefully ill get a few extra miles

Apart from that I think the bike just needs a decent service tbh, new plugs wouldnt hurt im sure it needs a valve clerance check aswell.
