Default Which roadside puncture repair kit?

Looking for something that will get me from the side of the road to home/a tyre shop. I've been looking at the kits that come with some CO2 cartridges to get the tyre reinflated and string to plug the hole. Did see one kit that had rubber bungs instead of the string (for roadside use, not the mushrooms for a permanent repair) but the eBay listing ended and I haven't found another the same. Anyone got a recommendation on brand/style or are they all much alike? I'd like it to be as portable as possible whilst still having everything like the CO2 in it (as the cartridges look smaller and less work than carrying a pump). Thanks.

get something like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYRE-PUNCT...item20de9eaea1

then go down your local push bike shop and pickup a pack of CO2 cartridges and adaptor. job done.

Oh FYI, each cartridge inflates to aprox 10 psi.

Thanks, ordered now and I'll pop into the bike shop when I next venture down to the high street. The 10 psi tip is an added bonus as that will definitely save some uncertainty at the roadside! Thanks again!

From everything I've read, the sticky string type is by far the easiest to use in real life (wet/dark/side of the road/middle of nowhere etc), all the off road type guys in the US seem to recommend them.

I've only had cause to have experienced the use of the string jobbies once (done on a mates bike by a tyre repair place in Belgium), but it worked a treat.

This chap gives a good demo, exactly the way the Belgian tyre fitter did it.

The only comment I'd make is remember to give it 1 1/2 twists before pulling out, and get the string ready in the tool before reaming out the hole so you don't lose more pressure than necessary, it helps when pushing the plug in to have some pressure inside the tyre holding it firm.

Just got this off the bay:

Pretty handy as it came with cartridges and a regulator too
