Hi All
Anyone have any experience with armstrong brake discs (front in particular)? They're a far more stomachable price than EBC and I get on with their sintered pads ok. Or another one I'm considering http://blackshadow-uk.com yet to hear back from anyone that's used them but they're uk made, company are supposed to be reasonable to deal with and they have a years warranty. Think I saw a pair of EBC's for £285 - unless anyone's seen them cheaper elsewhere? cheers

Im afraid not but the prices seem nice... but then brakes are something you dont want to mess about with if you know what I mean.
Anything on google? |

Ordering a 3 set of those Blackshadows for my GSX14. Not much of a fan of wavy discs but at £200 plus pads I think they are worth a pop. The 14 is not the sort of bike which I like to cut about Schwantzing into corners most of the time. Slow in , fast out, the line round the corner set up days in advance.
![]() If I had the mega dosh I would get OE again (lasted 55,000mile before one disc warped) I have never had aftermarket discs ( EBC) perform in all round conditions as well as OE. Specifically in the wet. All worse in initial braking. Look **** in no time too. Small improvement in "grab" for me, when playing in madman mode. |

Tilt, on here, has got Armstrongs on his Mk1 Tuono, and CombatFred has just bought some Blackshadows for his Busa, but yet to fit them, so no feedback yet.
I'm a fan of Braking wavy discs having had 2 sets. One set on my Falco and one set on both my Curveys. Looking to replace my fronts on the Duke as I've got a warped one too. ![]() |

OEM brembo discs seem to be prone to doing that... Bah!

Well on my Falco I was told to upgrade to Mille ones which were apparently thicker or go the Braking route. It's only the one disc on the Duke and it's possibly down to a binding caliper, although they have done nearly 39k, so it's not unreasonable IMO.
