Default SV1000 rear shock comaptibility

Folks, Anyone know if there is any difference between standard SV1000 rear shocks?

I've got a K3 naked. I know the K3's were a bit special in many ways but not sure if that extends to the shock fitting. Anyone now for sure if they are all the same?

Cheers,
Mark

As far as I'm aware, the K3 naked had the lower subframe like the later models. Later SV's had a heat shield at the top of the shock to reduce fade, but I think all other specs remained the same.

I recently fitted a sv1000 shock to my faired k3. Not sure if the naked is the same, but it's a fairly straightforward fit, only the reservoir on the shock does touch the underside of the battery tray so I loosened the battery tray mountings to allow it to sit up a tad higher under the seat and it all went together alright.

Looks like you've fitted a 1000 shock to a 650. Is that correct or did you need to adjust the battery tray to get it onto a thou?

Ah yeah sorry, forgot to mention mines a 650! It's a bit of a squeeze against the battery tray but certainly possible.
