Quick question - stopped to help a fellow biker by the roadside, and my SV fell off its sidestand, breaking the gear lever. So much for good karma
![]() ![]() Is the lever from the K6 pointy common to other Suzi models too? Was gonna do a quick ring-round of breakers in the morning. Any pointers / guidance greatly appreciated. |

BTW if its just the toe peg that has snapped off and the lever is straight then use http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE...c9Bbpl1mzImoFg
you just need to file the 'stub', drill, CS the lever and then use threadlock when putting the new peg on. its what i done and its been fine for 10k. dont be tempted to use the knurled ones as they rip your boots. Last edited by Bibio; 08-07-16 at 07:58 PM. |

Thanks Bibio, if I don't turn anything up at the breakers I'll give those a go. Hoping to be mobile again tomorrow if I can ...
By the way, crash bungs are well worth it (especially when they came with the bike). Apart from the gear lever, the only other damage was a cracked indicator lens mounting lug (fixed with superglue) and a scuff on the mirror. Would have been MUCH more painful in the wallet otherwise. |

Thanks Blapper - that's another option. It's irritating that the lever snapped right where the toe peg joins the body of the lever, so a foldable toe peg is probably a good idea.
Serves me right for not double-checking the stand was fully 'locked out,' which I normally do ... |

if you keep the bike in gear when you park up it stops the bike rolling back/fourth so if the side stand is a bit dodgy it wont go anywhere. use the same method in high winds if your bike is parked up outside.
