Default K2 Crazy Vibrations all of a sudden

Hi All,

I am a little stumped.

I know a month or so ago, I could be a 10k rpm and there wouldn't be vibrations which stopped me focusing. However, today, on the same road whenever 10k rpm was hit the pegs, seat and bars where vibrating crazy - so much so it felt quite tingly.

Any idea what it could be?
She is due an oil change, and filter change along with new plugs and the air filter sorted. Could the old oil be causing this? It just seems odd how it started so randomly!

Does this vibration happen with the bike stationary?

Engine bolts all tight.?

Does any of the wheels have any balance weights, and are they all still in place?

How is the rear chain? I'd start there, but while I'm writing, if the engine is due an oil change, I'd keep the revs a tad lower anyway.

I have not tried doing it when stationary yet, I'll give it a go later. I am trying to find my torque wrench I so I can give the engine bolts a tighten (if at all!) I will let you guys know the outcome.

Okay so I'm going to give this a bash tomorrow. May seem daft, but which engine bolts do I need to tighten, all of them?
Am I correct in thinking the torque specifications should be 55nm?

Have you considered changing up sooner? Fairly sure peak torque on an SV is well bellow 10k so revving it so high is more noise than go.

Any particular gear or road speed or just at high engine speed?

Okay so I had a look.

At 8k the vibration is quite considrable, can you feel quite a lot this engine speed? I have torqued up the engine bolts as well.

The vibrations are there both when still and moving. The vibrations are there in Neutral. Less vibrations at higher rpm in lower gears too.

Odd, any suggestions?

How many miles on the clock, as I'm wondering if the crank or big ends are about to go, if the engines been abused sometime is its past. Worst case scenario, but it is a weak spot if the bikes been wheelied a lot.

I can't think of anything other than maybe if the carbs are out of sync.

Some engines are just vibey, depends how they've been treated
