Default Anyone have a Roof helmet?

Are they noisy? Have you had any other that you can compare?

I bought a roof Boxer for use on my 125 a few years back. I didn't think it was that bad at the time but I've had to go back to wearing it on my SV as I had shoei XR800 knicked the other day. I now realise how loud, heavy and noisey it is compared to shoei/aria.

Also it has no ventilation which isn't a major problem in the summer but its terrible in the rain. You have the choice of not being able to see due to the rain or closing the visor and not being able to see cause its steamed up.

I think they must have improved them now tho. I paid less than £100 for mine back in '99/00; I think they want £200-£250 for them now which could actually get you a decent helmet.

Going to have to replace the XR800 soon as I have a weekend away planned in a few weeks and I'm not sure I could bear wearing the roof on the motorway! Will most likely get another Shoei either the XR1000 or Raid

I've got teh Diversion and it rocks. Very quiet and the vents work well.

Downside,

Visor change can be a pain in the **** sometime. The arai and shoei lids win hands down on that point.

Other than that I really like it, so much so I bought the company................................no okay not the compant but I am on my second diversion after a havey off back in December 2003

After a recent heavy off wearing a Diversion I can't recommend em too highly. Never had any complaints about wind noise or fogging either.

I remember being told when I first bought it that the vent covers were a little fragile and prone to damage if you take less than good care of your lid but have never had any problems myself.

Best testimony is probably that I'm going straight back out to another the same.
