Default metzeler sportec m1

has anybody tried the metz sportec m1 on a sv650s? i have ridden a bmw boxer cup (180/50-17)on them and they felt good. i'm currently running metz roadtec z6 which have given me amazing results and v high mileage (7000 miles rear) i no longer cover the miles i used to and fancy something a bit stickier as i know metzeler im keen to stick with them (no pun intended) but just need to know they are going to work ok.

They worked fine for me... But for 99% of the riding I do I prefer the Roadtecs... They warm up faster and stay warm better, and apart from in totally straight, braking I've never noticed any difference in grip... The rear spins up easier in the wet, but other than that I find them better than the Sportecs in the wet too- probably heat again.

The only time the Roadtecs didn't feel as good or better was on a wet-drying track, where I tried to brake like I was on Sportecs and ended up in the gravel I'm planning to have a spare set of wheels with Rennsports or similiar for trackdays.

On a purely personal point, I found the Sportecs could overwhelm with feedback when pushing on... You feel every little scrabble and stone, or it seems that way... Which for the seriously experienced rider would be great, but for me led to overload, basically- the Roadtecs give much less feedback but everything you get is important, so there's one less stage between feedback and reaction for me. A more experienced rider wuld probably be able to get more from the Sportec than I could in this way.

You get decent mileages for a sticky tyre, mine had Sportecs on when I got it which did about 3500 on the rear (but were pretty much slicks by the time I replaced them ) and around 6000 on the front.
