For speeding. The Police car followed me a few miles, took a video, measured averages and so... At some point I went a little bit faster to get rid of a "supossedly" tailgater!!!
I didn't realise it was a police car until I got fed up, slowed down, changed to the middle lane and made signs to the car to f**** pass me a let me ride without having a distraction on my mirrors... he did slow down too, get too close to my rear wheel and put the lights on. Or where already there all the time? Don't know... but a court appearance request is about to arrive to my post... Fantastic.. what a week... ![]() |

Where on the M40? how fast? Was done in the Jag 4 years ago for 102 average, the lower of two readings the other being 108 and the max speed being 125.
With no other points on my licence and a great mitigation letter signed by my MD but written by the company lawyer I managed to get away with a week ban and 650 quid fine |Fortunate for me was that it was an offence on a Sunday, apparantly Warwickshire hate business travellers who speed on the M40 Monday to Friday Quote:

15 miles before reaching the M25... I was coming from Oxford... at 15: 40...
About the speed, is it ok to say it on a public forum? I will wait until this is finished... nothing big, but enough to get a ban. Not too much room for getting away without too much damage (on the license and wallet) |

Firstly I'll offer my help should you have any queries regarding your Fixed Penatly Notice or Process for summons, As a police officer (which pays for me to sit astride my SV) albeit thankfully not a traffic officer then feel free to ask, same goes to all others.
I do understand your frustration that your right hand may have reacted to having a car appear a bit to close for comfort on your mirror.A REASONABLE increase in speed to facilitate an increase in safety gaps between you and your following vehicle in most officers opinions would be acceptable followed by pulling in at the next safe available opportunity to allow the quicker vehicle to pass. Frustrating I know and don't take this as me having a dig aswell as I'm hopefull the officer(s) fully explained their reasoning for your process. Again feel free to PM me! Cross your fingers and count down from 14 days, no Notice of Intended Prosecution means you should be a very lucky boy![/b] |
