Default My GSXR

Tony and I are gonna sell our respective bikes, pool the money and get a new shared GSXR 1000 K5 / K6. That means that in the next few months, I'll be selling my K4 750. Just wanted to give first option to anyone at the Soho meet if anyone particuarly likes it. I'm not ready to get rid of it yet but will "reserve" it if anyone is interested.

I wouldn't be sharing my bike with anyone, but then, I'm a possessive, greedy person I just wouldn't want to have to negotiate who's turn it was to take it out on a sunday

Well guys - this is how it is - I have a new house, need a new faster commuter scooter - cos a 125 from Feltham will just be a nightmare and want a car so I can take the dog walking around Windsor etc and not be confined to Feltham - as you would. Something's gotta give. And it's going to be the gixxer. As long as I have access to a sportsbike for the odd blast or rideout for the next couple of years, then I'll be able to afford something on my own down the line.

Make sense? Unless someone wants to offer me a few grand..?

Yeh, here you go hun. here a big fat cheque.

just watch out cos its super bouncy too.

Sorry to hear your being so sensible, but i guess it happens to the best of us from time to time.
be easier to get rid of the dog tho, them you dont need a car. Or get a dog so small that you can put it in a tank bag to take it to the park.

What's your cheap n fast commuter gonna be. Any ideas?

Money for free - oh happy day!

I figure I need a minimum 200 cc to handle the M4. I was thinking maybe of getting a bike around 400 cc or a DRZ but a scooter in Central London is so much better than a big bike for me in terms of manoeuvrability.

I quite like the Gilera Runner 200 cc but a specialist scooter mechanic I know who lives and breathes em said that Vespa is a better engine. I'll probably test ride a few and take it from there.

Not planning on making any immediate changes yet. We'll be taking buses to Windsor and Virginia Water for the time being.

Will deffo be having a house warming to welcome all the Soho folks to our new pad. Completing on the 1st September!!!

But the runner has better components, and is a lot lighter and smaller. My majesty125 was more than capable on the motorway, and still a lot lighter/smaller than a 400. I was thinking of a TMax 250 but thought it might be too big for traffic queues.

Isn't the runner also easier to nick?

I'm not keen on scooter with the proper 2 seat configuration. We have a piaggio beverly 125 at home which is already faster than my vespa - it's definitely not a bike I could be proud of.

re the bike - Etienne just picked up a XT660X supermotard as a temp replacement for the Gixxer, and it looks like a real laugh plus is super manoeuvrable in traffic. Not too pricey either - good condition '05 bike for only £2800. And sorry hun but it's definitely cooler than a scooter

oh, and good luck with the move BTW!

I can definitely recommend a small trailie around town - far more chuckaboutable than a scoot and much better visiblity/being visible. I did it for 18 months without incident on a TW 125, but you'll want something bigger.
