Simple really, for me anyway, scratching the lanes the red K5 pointy works well for me. Having said that I've not ridden a curvy in anger.

Could do with some finer criteria eg handling, cost of ownership, smiles per mile

Looks wise I'd say the pointy in my opinion. Although not had the pleasure of riding a curvy

Even if I'm a pointy owner, I have to say that the curvy looks much better -for me anyway. Especially the frame. Havent ridden the curvy, so can't comment on carbs vs EFI etc.

I love the looks of the curvy, though I'd like the engine / handling characteristics (from what I've been told) of the pointy (Is there a way to put the point suspendion / engine in a curvy and get the est of both worlds?)

Both Suspension are naff... better off replacing it with a GSX or ZX6 shock. Change your fork springs and oil... even heavier oil makes all the difference...
And the engine things been done... speak to mike1234 about it...
