Default sputering bike/aftermarket handlebars

I got into an accident about two weeks ago due to a traffic light malfunction. ended up jumping off the bike onto some ladies hood and laying the bike down. so anyway it has been sitting since then, I cranked it up today and it was bogging down when I put on the throttle. that eventualy subsided but when I blip the throttle something like a small backfire was happening. some darker smoke and a pop but not painfully loud. also it idle you can tell some of the strokes seam more powerfull than others. my question is what could the problem be? it has about 11000 miles on it and I know for a fact it had gas so old it wouldnt start run through it but that was a while ago. also the handlebars are tweaked I found very few aftermarket replacements. one is bikemaster they sell bars for like 15 dollars. why are they so cheap should I pass on them, has anyone installed them? deos anyone know of any other options. thanks in advance! (2002 sv650, someone cut and rewellded the exhaust as a highmount...)

Default Re: sputering bike/aftermarket handlebars

Stealership will sell the bars for $70, I recently snagged a pair off ebay for only 55. The Bikemaster bars likely dont have the holes drilled. Thus why they are cheap. As for the engine problems, they are likely, at least in part, caused by oil in the airbox. When you dropped your bike, the oil seeps up the breather hoses. Oil could also have mucked up your carbs, the rubber diaphrams are exremely sensative to chemicals. Mine were destroyed when i dropped my SV and coolant wondered into my airbox. Someone smarter than me will be along soon with better advise.
