Is it possible to do this? I have so many gear levers spare at home it would be a shame to waste. And the fact that they are 50ish quid for new rear brake lever

If you have a City&Guilds in Bodge-ism then I suppose it could be a yes, otherwise it's a no.

Well you'd have to obviously use it upside down, and the gear pedal lacks the tail eyelet or metal to drill one, you could make a plate to attach to the pedal extending backwards and affix the rear master cylinder link to that, how are your machining skills ?
So yes it could be done, but it's the effort/time/skill involved that may make you think twice about doing it. Cheers Mark.
