Default Throttle Sync (K3) problem (Solved!)

Hello all,

Not posted much before but always read this site and always excellent info.
Right my problem: I may be being really thick here but I have connected the vaccum hoses to the take-off points and now I am not sure.

On the front throttle body there was only one so used that. The rear one though has 2 take off points?! I used the one on the left hand side of bike (as you sit on it) and different to what i see in haynes manual. Are these just the same or have i connected the wrong thing?

Help much appreciated
Thanks
Matt

Default Re: Throttle Sync (K3) Completed!

ok so I finally realised that either of the 2 take off points would do exactly the same thing.
My usual spannering ability is just doing Oil/Filter/Plugs changes.

I have to say that balancing the throttle bodies was actually pretty easy. (The hardest part is removing the caps on take off points due to access and I still haven't refitted them and taken for a test ride yet)

By the way one of the readings was about 22, the other about 27/28. Would this be considerd a big difference??

Oh and I throughly recommend the Morgan Carbtune - worked great.

22 > 27/28 not to far out, but you should notice the difference, it's one of those jobs you should do regularly, and if you leave a length of tubing attached (obviously blocked off) to the front point, it makes it even simpler.

FI bikes by their very nature have a certain dynamic range controlled by the ECU when it comes to fuelling and the cheaper units can make this noticable at times with even perfectly balanced throttle bodies, so it won't cure all, but as said a difference should be felt.

Cheers Mark.

Thanks Rictus,

Should I now be doing the TPS sensor, and will I find this straightforwards as well - or best leave to someone more qualified?

It's fairly straight forward and well documented on the Home page under the FAQ section.

nothing difficult, like most things, be sure you know what you're doing, take your time and be pedantic about it.

Cheers Mark.
