I am 12 stone, going on the spring rates the 600 shock is probably sprung better for me (do have one in the garage somewhere, may give it a try in the spring) but I like the stiffness of the thou shock.
Picked both shocks up for less than £30 each delivered off eBay, just bide your time and you can snap up a bargain. Regards |

Thanks for the advice.
I took the misses out for the first time in a while in the dark tonight, and remembered how skywards she sends the headlight, ok, well not really skywards, but high enough to make people flash at me, and I cant see as much as I would like! Maybe the 1000 shock is the way forward then, and as said, if I fall out with it I can always get a 6/7 shock for not a lot of dough. |

How heavy are you. Possibly SRAD750, but it's tall and lightly sprung.

Thanks YC. I'm 13.5 stone plus on occasion taking a 9 stone pillion.
My stock shock is at full preload and with a pillion feels like it's squatting.

I was looking into this a while ago on the svrider forum.
According to them there are three main shock options for the curvy - SRAD GSXR, Kwak 636 and Hayabusa. The GSXR one is sprung lightly and the ride height is increased with one fitted. This one is suitable for lighter riders. The 636 gives the same ride height and is sprung heavier and is said to be the best compromise. The busa shock is shorter and gives a lower ride height, and is heavily sprung and more suitable for heavier riders. Hope that helps Mr Speirs ![]() |
