8 stone sounds about right for the suspension.
I aint a fat bast*ard (just over 14 stone) and the bike squats when a get first on!

Does this mean if I get a bike with aftermarket rear shock (and maybe even gsxr front end), I'll need to swap em back to stock for my non-weight? Or will they happily adjust "backwards" for lighter people too?

Depends on the forks and shock.

Mostly any aftermarket shock can be rebuilt to suit different weight riders. For penske a new spring is about £60 IIRC. (there are cheaper available). Plus £5-£10 for new valving if the existing setup is for heavy spring.

GSXR vary wildly in spring rate and suitability depending on year. GSXR SRAD forks would be fine for your weight.

If you get the choice of buying a bike with an aftermarket shock, DO IT!

Even if in the incredibly unlikely event it cannot be set up for you, it is still an extra £300 or more for you when you resell it.
