I did my first bike ride in about 3-4 years today for Leukemia research today. 26 miles around Shoeburyness, was on a rented mountain bike (as I'm not getting my cycle to work thingy till the end of the month) and managed it in a modest time of about 3 hours 45 minutes. I now feel completely dead, legs are aching and my **** is sore.

However, I feel good for it and now realise how easy my 6 mile ride to work is going to be

Just did 81 miles this afternoon on the road bike, strong head wind to begin with which then died as it came into my favour!

Stopped off for chips and peanut sauce and a bami block, crazy dutch food but seemed to do the job.

There were a few climbs, 10m onto one dyke, plus the odd flyover!

The wind was a bugger but died in the evening, although there was still a little to help the last 15 miles home.
