Awesome means nothing when you have control of the forum's most mystical button, the "Edit Post" button...

Distracted by door.....
Oil light on when ignition on - haven't started it up since I got home. Nothing has changed in the bike. Rode it yesterday absolutely fine. |

OK, Chris is home and taken it for a spin. Definately only running on one cylinder, stinks of petrol, backfires, 2nd cylinder will kick in about 4k revs.
He is gonna strip it and have a look at the weekend but it's sure whether it is a spark plug problem or a lead problem. Any advice now to what he might be looking for would be a huge help. Gutted that the week I'm using the bike for work it plays up. The rest of my rides are jollies and it wouldn't of mattered. ![]() |

whens the last time you washed it? i think you said you usually do after very ride? might be just standing water in teh front pug hole........ thats it it is the front
the sv is all fairly simple under the tank, you can see most things so if there's a dodgy HT it will be easily fixed |

Issue last weekend for me... Wire had worked it's way loose from rear HT coil, had me stumped for some time.

Ah OK!! Hopefully that's what it will be then. I'm just really bummed I can't use it this week. A 30 minutes bike ride will actually take an hour and half in the car cos of rush hour.

imho check your front plug, when i first brought myself an sv i didnt have any water issues and rode it through torrential rain with no problems but after a few trips out the plug will corrode and alas become useless, i only noticed mine went because she started popping and lurching around in a mild shower one day
![]() Annnnd if the plug isnt dead, get a tad of wd over the plug (once its back in of course) to worm out any water that might be lurking down there Last edited by GreyFear; 15-02-10 at 09:31 PM. |

I've had this twice when it wasn't water. Once was the front cylinder HT lead had worked itself loose and was hanging off the front plug, the second time was a knackered coil feeding the rear cylinder.
