Strange, it should have had a narrow filler opening to only accept unleaded.
Unlike an old Ducati

Petrol and diesel? So passé! On a trip to France earlier this year, one of our crowd mixed up the pumps for unleaded and paraffin.

At the next stop...

Quiff (serious): I was thinking about getting a 749, but I've gone off it.

Pete (not seeing it coming): How come?

Quiff (comedy pause): Can't afford the price of diesel.

You'll be old and senile too Phil one day, and that's not far off I reckon.

Yes it's true, the Dieselsedici does run better, and does 80 to the gallon too.

Wish the pump had the old style nozzle Stu, but it was a narrow one sadly.

Well to it's credit Baph it never faltered once in 1500 miles. Must try and treat it with a bit more respect though.

What a kn0bhead I am.

Luckily it only cost 32 quid to put right. Wing mirrors and gear levers can cost more than that.

And I'm glad I was able to take the gentle ribbing as I'm the first to dish it out.

Thanks to YC for getting his hands wet and to my various other helpers who acquired the containers, connected things, and kept my spirits up.

If only that had been the first time!

2nd that Tis becoming a bit of a habbit Pete - didnt the SV get the same treatment not long back too?

Seriously, glad all got sorted & no damage caused. I did the exact opposite last week to my diesel car - The AA relieved me of the best part of £190 to get it drained

So, just because it sounds like that at tickover doesn't mean it is a diesel!

Was quite amusing anyway watching peoples faces when pete wanders over with a fuel tank saying "want some free diesel?"

The manager sent one of his till-monkeys out after pete bought the containers. It went a little like "excuse me" "yes we know these aren't suitable for fuel, cheers" "errmm..."

Got the fuel out of the tank and managed to give it away to a guy with an old transit. He was well chuffed with it!
