It is hard when like me I have no idea what you mean by or how to fit a relay. I would rather not attempt it in case I messed up and caused a lot more damage and expense to fix.

I have a Stebel Magnum with no relay (instructions said you didn't need one) and that works fine but the Nautilus comes with a relay and is apparently much louder then the Magnum (therfore must use more current).
The webshop I bought my horn from has some fitting instructions for the Nautilus too......albeit for a beemer. http://www.nippynormans.com/STEBEL-N.../STB-NAUT-COM/ |

The nautilus is a completely different design to the magnum, and will draw ~20A when activated
Wire it directly to the battery and switch it with a relay, or you will almost certainly damage your SV's wiring...

Thanks Blue Flame. I am in no rush to fit it so will no doubt catch up with you at some point - unless you want a wee run out sometime and are heading my way and want a brew!

I stuck one on my Daytona. Space was a problem, but if you look you can seperate the horn (plastic bit) from the compressor. You can then link them together with a length of hose.
This ment I could fit the compressor under the pillion seat and the actual spout is at the front of the bike. I also used the relay but fitted the whole thing in such a way that i didn't alter the bikes original wireing at all. The holw thing can be put back to standard in minutes. |

how did you do this mate? trying to find somewhere to stick this on the ADV and i'm worried i'm going to break it. is it just a case of pulling the two tabs back and smacking the compressor tube out of the horn assembly?

I bolted mine to the side of the radiator with a bit of metal and wired it directly to the battery using a relay and in line fuse. I can pop over and give you a hand if you want

Once you have the two parts you need some hose to join them together. The plastic half has a female and the compressor has a male conection. Halfords stock a plastic hose conector, you will need to glue one into the hole in the plastic part so you have a male at both ends to push the hose over. As I said I have the compressor mounted in the tail and the horn at the front of the bike so the hose I used to join the two runs the entire length of the bike. It is still f**king loud! |
