Bolting off the shelf parts onto a bike doesn't constitute "customised" or "unique" as anyone can do that, a gsxr front end or rear shock isn't really customising either. Paint and custom made mods ect is what makes something unique and one off.

Chassis number makes it unique... unless someones cloned it.

True you could go with a paint job but whats the point? yes it will be a one off but it still looks the same.. just a different colour lol!!

Its simple really. Look at all the bikes you like (both custom and stock), list why you like them. Find the common denominators that could be done and do those to your bike. Simples.

If more than a couple of dozen people have done it before you to your bike then theres no way you can get away with it being 'unique', again as I said push outside the box.

Depends if you want it to be visually different, or just different overall.
Eg, visually, my bike's only main difference is the exhausts and double bubble, yet there are plenty of other bits of my bike that you don't see that aren't standard.

If you're just after visual effect, custom paint job (on either panels, rims, frame, etc...) is the easiest way to achieve it.

I have made my bike unique by changing subtle little things. The Suzuki graphic on my tank is a custom font, the handle bars are completely different and I have fiddled around with the indicators. I have a new exhaust and a pretty tank protector which I love.

I have considered the respray thing, thinking about bright colours or complex spray jobs, but in the end I love the silver paint, so I have just stuck a couple of Nuns on her and made her mine. Also the number plate is pretty unique.

Hope that helps.

PS, if you want to see more of what I did, have a look here.
