I had to use my breakdown cover twice a couple weeks back which made up part of my insurance policy with E-bike.

Got a puncture first and was recovered home (also a Sunday).

I filled the tyre with foam on Tuesday and got half a mile from home and the tyre was flat again (foam didnt work). They recovered me to the tyre shop I was trying to get to.

As I wasnt at home it was part of the service. I thought I was going to pay - but they said it was cool. Was very happy.

yep...got the free cover with my Ebike policy. Haven't used it yet but then I've only done about 500 miles so far in my biking career. Haven't bothered with car cover as modern cars don't break down that often (touch wood).

My insurance policy covers for this. If I have an accident, no matter how serious, they actually encourage you to NOT ride, and to get them out to recover the bike. That way, they can offer an opinion on site, and inspect the site of the accident.

I've never called them out -runs to grab something wooden to touch- yet, so I'm only guessing.

It also quite clearly states in my insurance policy that, if after an accident, anyone other than an approved recovery service takes my bike home/to a shop, my insurance claim is void right there & then. Also, it must be taken to an approved place, but that's the usual case really.

Check the small print folks
