When was the last time you saw a race bike with heated grips?

I like these, they look good, seem to be solidly built, good options etc... But then I sat on one, and found i couldn't live with the fake tank. It's plastic, and if you squeeze with your knees it moves about. If you lean off, it'll bend with you. Feels so cheap, and it'd be distracting too I reckon. That, and the price of course.

hmmm... some good points, well made there.

Rictus and Northwind have done a pretty good job of putting me off it now…

I'm going for a test ride on it at the weekend providing the snow and ice disappear by then so I’ll have a better idea then. Im also having a ride on the 650 Dakar and a Kawasaki VERSYS, which is a lot cheaper. I’m also considering a Honda hornet 600, the last of the old shape.

I’m very confused!

To be fair, with me it was totally a personal thing- just like I don't get on well with Hornets, because I always bang my knee on the radiator hose mounting It doesn't seem to bother Christian Pfeiffer.

Also you may want to try more upright bikes if you're getting wrist/back ache.

I have been impressed with the PR on these 800 machines. They are pretty black and white which is something I like about them - you know what you're getting and quality control is high. If you like that style have you looked at Yamaha - they are running an interest free deal at the moment (worth considering for the Fazers).

Technical specs say otherwise - does it just not feel that quick riding one?
