Hopefully this thread my be of some use;

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...Leather&page=2

It was talked about at lengh. Myself I wear a T-shirt or several thin layers underneath, nothing below but my boxers (did ya really wanna know that?)

When its gets cold like today I pull a hoodie over leathers which works really well, it didn't rain too much on the way back. However I will be in my waterproof textile gear tomorrow it looks like a rain day. Can I stay home please!

I guess it's all down to personal preference and what you intend to do with them. If you are planning on going on track then it has to be leathers, and personally I think one piece are better then two simply because they are easier to move around in which is pretty important when on a track.

If you are only riding on the road then a good set of textiles are in certain ways better than leathers. Decent textiles are far more versatile than leathers, being more weatherproof, easier to get on and off and have more pockets. From a protection point of view they should have all the approved armor and provided they fit properly (it they are to lose they can move allowing the armor to be out of place, hence the little adjustable straps/belts around arms etc) then they stand up to crashes just as well as leathers. Remember the reason leathers are so good is that they allow you to slide long distances without wearing through, unfortunately on the road it is extremely rare for you to slide any great distance at all before hitting something solid...

For 90% of my road riding I wear leather trousers and a textile jacket, then I just keep a pair of waterproof leggings under the seat in case it rains.

A 2-piece has to zip together all the way around too. They don't like the ones with just a short zip in the back.

I 've stopped wearing clothes under my leathers as was told not to they're supposed to be tight fitting, going to invest in some base layers (EDZ). In cold but dry I wear my 2pc with a fleece over or textile bottoms + leather jacket. In wet I wear full textile.

+ TCX/oxtar boots & leather gloves

Speedplay I used to be against wearing stuff over leathers but it's actually suprisingly convenient, good way to regulate temp, keep your leathers clean + have pockets (remember to zip them up! lost my bank card at w/e)
I just wear a plain blue fleece, less chavtastic and no flappy fanny hood

My textile jacket and my leather jacket both zip to my leather pants - I bought all my stuff (at different times) from HG, and it all zips together. Handy.
