Sorry to disagree pal but you surelly cannot be serious! You say that is worth 3 points and £60?! Yes it was wrong and I don't say otherwise, but surelly that was OTT? You get 3 points for dangerous driving or overtaking in no over taking zone. This was IMO totally OTT. I thought he gave her the ticket because of the other lassies talking cr4p. But he said latter he would do it anyway! If the police issues tickets for offences like that there will be no drivers/riders left! I get points on my licence and I pay the price (wife gobbing, insurance going up etc). $cum gets banned and hey ho ... they still ride/drive and laugh at us all as we pay the premium. Heck .... I agree on that part, and I think he said he would of given the ticket anyway because the police can't really be seen to be soft touches now can they??

Still, parking where she parked deserved a fine. Points are dubious perhaps, but under current legislation, he couldn't of given her a fine & no points. A traffic warden might be able to, but police can't just hand out fines to my knowledge.

She was parked miles from the kerb (and therefore even more of an obstruction) at lights that were on a small bend. All for the sake of 10ft of walking in the cold.

To be prosecuted successfully of DD you need to be caught in the act or in the car with the keys.

If I was him I would not sweat it, any lawyer could have that thrown out, and in fact I would be surprised if the CPS would continue given the severe lack of evidence i.e. NONE!!!!

I would be cocky with them knowing that they have to prove I was driving, coming to my house and just seeing me with a drink is not evidence, what they had was circumstance at the most!!

Very true. But you know I always fear when police stops me I will get an idiot like this one! They can make you feel soooooooo small!

There is a crossing, with traffic lights/zig-zags, in Marlow town centre and tossers are forever parking there, blocking the whole town centre up. I think that 3 points+fine is the least they can do! Although it was pretty deserted when they did her....its the principle isnt it and IMO sets a good precedent. No excuse to park there...she was lazy and took a gamble and lost

Cool. I am sure you will be happy to receive 3 points next time you filter towards a zebra crossing. Plus £60 and you will take it with a smile on your face. Point is whilst he was issuing needless tickets he could have been (and IMHO should have been) focusing on something more serious.

The 'zig-zag' issue is a big one for me as selfish idiots keep blocking up Marlow....its completely needless and further congests an already busy area. Whilst i acknowledge that there are more important jobs for the cops...i am happy that they enforce this law.

But he may have left the RN by the time that incident happened. Even though he is/was a club swinger (RNPTI) he would still be required to keep duty watch on a regular basis due to the reduced number of people available to do it (even two years back), would probably have been 2nd Duty Office for the base itself or may have been unlucky enough to have been Duty NCO on gate duty, wouldn't have worked all night though but may well have had an early rise (4am), then work all day before being allowed home at 4pm (via the bar )

yes just a bit, get wound up when i see certain thing the police do, assuming the worse and thinking they have the god given right to do what they want. and to make it worse i am married to one and here about the things they get up to

fair enough i stand corrected, ours (army) dont work nights, yes they operate duty PTI who closes the gym last thing and opens up first thing but i hav never met a PTI who would do nights. It might stop them posing in the mirror and kissing their biceps!! LOL
