Dead Battery, thought battery was duff so got new a battery - 3 days later and its dead after doing alot * of miles and various rev's and speeds - checked the green connector which iv seen posted up here before, not burn't out & looks clean & sweet. ***

so my battery isnt even a month old yet, iv also read up that it lose's 1percent of its charge every day . so say its

12.8 volts -> 12.80 <- 100%
00.128<-- 1percent

so therefore it lost 00.20 volts overnight in a cold garage isnt bad going?

on charge again atm, going to take it off and leave it in house overnight to see what it drop's - wish me luck

Once back on, all charged run the bike and see what voltage appears from the battery terminals, because it can happen the other way around where the alternator over charges. This will kill battery's, so anything like 16v or above will kill the batt. I'd imagine it should be somewhere close to 13.5v maybe 14v. But see what happens first if it drops big time or not in the house.

around 14-14.5 is normal, I would be worried if the voltage is over 15V on a bike/car since they don't have automatical voltage regulating to compensate for ambient temperature.

you may loose 1% of volts over night but this shouldn't be repeated every night the bike isnt used,and although you will loose cranking amp after extended periods of not being usedbut the voltage shouldn't drop much below 12 volts after say 2 months, that is aslong you havent got a alarm drawing current,i now have trickle chargers on most of my bikes,but this spring i got my vfr out of hibernation having not being used/started or the battery charged for over 5 months and it started on the battery first time with out trouble,
just checked the voltage on my old gsx600f,dont think its been on the road for 9 months and havent started it this year,no trickle charger,but there is a fuel gauge which is always reading evan when ignition is turn off,and put the meter on the battery and was reading 12.75 volts,the battery is a motorbat gel battery,hope this can give you a indication of what a battery should behave like
