what's crap about the power delivery on parallel twins ?
ok, the torque curve isn't as flat as a V, but there's a nice bit of top-end. ktm's new gp 250 is a parallel twin :P |

ask chaz davies, if you know who he is.
and that red blob in the picture is a slick shod ducati that wasn't catching my pathetic parallel twin. can you walk the walk, or do you just talk the talk ? |

If thats true Al then the ducati was being ridden very badly
![]() ![]() However my restricted SV absolutely slaughters my mates full power GS500 on every rideout and he begs me to swap bikes. I believe the gs is something like 50 bhp when the sv is restricted to 33. What could the answer be? Power delivery thats what. |

Taken from Augusts RIDE magazine - The engine appears to be closely related to kawasaki's innofensive commuter, the ER-5. Parallel twins are an old fasioned configuration with few advantages except being cheap to build.
SV rival?? Not really. Better than a GS500f yeah. |

It's not for me, cos I want V twins. But it is a serious threat to Suzuki, when all the newbie DAS riders get one to take their tests on with the riding schools.
I bet you will get a free ER5 with a Schoei Helmet now I noticed that Kawaski have refused to release details of width, height, weight etc. As that is going to be its biggest selling point, an ideal first bike with narrow frame and low seat height |

oops, silly me, it clearly wasn't a ducati, and wasn't in my group all day, or next to me in the paddock, and it definitely didn't come out a sign-written van from a london ducati dealer, and maybe i wasn't even at mallory, where there's a newish chicane called edwinas, hence the change in tarmac.
perhaps it was all a dream ? i really liked my sv650sk2, but some people are just so blinkered ![]() |

probably was al probably was. My point was this is no competition for the sv, not that the sv is the best bike in the world because it isnt by a long way and theres alot of bikes id rather own.
