Exhaust Fittings
I'm collecting my K4 SV on saturday, cant wait!! I'm wanting to fit an aftermarket can asap as my friend had a renegade on his curvy and sounded unreal!!
 I'm been looking a quite a few sites such as yosh, blue flame, leo vinco etc and have a question about the fitting of these cans. Most of the systems come with a slip on pipe and say you have to cut the original exhaust, is possible to get a can that simple bolts on in place of the standard can or is the standard can welded on instead of bolted  Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer. |

You have to cut the pipe or get a system.

As you suspected the original exhaust is all one (well except the stub pipe), so the choice is either a complete system or cutting and fitting a slip-on, the cutting is no problem and has been dcovered extensively (do a search for details).
