If you havent checked it and the bikes totally dead then thats what I would check next.

so will they be two 30 (green cassings) fuses one on each side, of a load of wires . . mines under a clear plastic lid that pops up, if thats the thing i should be looking at, the question is how would i go about diagnosing the other parts? if these fuses arnt black inside? ? ?

i'll post some pics of it when i get home to try and help a little

EDIT #2: If you have enough juice (before or after a charge) stick it in dealer service mode & see if there's any error codes showing up. Safe to start the bike in this mode too, and it'll most likely tell you where the fault is.
Search for the TPS adjustment thread, that covers how to get the bike into dealer service mode. Any questions about how to do it, drop me a PM matey.

The master fuse Fizz is talking about is mounted in the starter motor relay, trace the +ve lead from the battery and it's the first thing you'll come accross. There should be one live fuse and one spare.

I would agree this is the most likley culprit.

Ok Take the front seat off using whatever screw and allen fittings you need (side pods off first), then you'll see the battery. One terminal is marked "+" one "-". Trace the + lead back until you find the starter motor relay, it's a black box no more than 6 inches from the battery.

okay so if it is that fuse it will be black in the middle and broken right, and if its not then dealer mode to see if we have an error code

If you are getting *nothing* (completely dead) when you turn the bike on you can't put it in dealer mode. The fuse should be very obviously blown as you describe if that's the culprit!
