good to hear you're fighting fit. anything your not allowed to drink now? like coffee? cos i'm sure someone will drink your one for you when you buy it by accident and then remember you can't drink it

I hope that you recover soon. Kidney stones aren't nice. I've just had a message from my Mum saying that my sister' been taken ill with a suspected kidney stone and has gone to hospital.

I think that I had one last year. The day before we were flying to New Zealand, I had really bad pain. I left work early, just about managing to ride the bike back. I didn't have time to go to hospital as we needed to pack, so just took pain killers. Fortunately I was OK on the flight but a few days later it returned. We'd rented a camper van and were in a campsite in the middle of nowhere. The pain came on at night and was terrible. I spent the night doubled up in agony and felt like I needed to pee constantly. Mrs Wyrdness was really worried because we were in a strange country and she had no idea how to call an ambulance. Fortunately it improved by morning and I think that I passed the stone a couple of days later. I've been OK since.

Keep drinking lots of water. Apple juice is supposed to be good too. I believe that it softens the stones.

Well ive had to do a 24hr urine sample for them which i'm taking back today and once they test that they can tell me more.

They advised to saty off any foods with Oxolates in them, like coffee, chocolate, red wine etc but they will give me a fact sheet and suggested diet too.

Wyrdness...its really nasty waking up in the night with that pain isnt it? I rolled about for a couple of hours before i could take no more and called the ambulance. Glad your passed - apparently most do. But mine had to go an get stuck didnt it Hence they decide to fish him out.

They also said once you had one there is a 30% increased chance of it happening again. If it happens again the probability increses to 70%!!!

So i'm gonna do what i can to make sure i never have one again!!!!
